GREY WHALE

Bulky, mottled grey and sporting copious barnacles and scars, grey whales are great travellers, the eastern Pacific population migrating between Alaska and Mexico in a round trip of 20,000km. Reaching up to 16m in length and weighing up to 36 tons, the worldwide population of grey whales is estimated to be around 20,000.
