ARCTIC TERN

Each summer these elegant seabirds return to Canada, Alaska, Iceland and other parts of Scandinavia and Northern Europe to nest – and rest, having just flown from Antarctica! The mighty little migrants can be seen feeding offshore or fussing over dense breeding colonies. They take exception to intruders, so keep a respectful distance from nest sites.
